
Baghrir (Semolina Pancakes)
Ingredients
- 200 g (1¼ C) cake flour
- 2 semolina
- ½ t salt
- 1 T baker’s yeast
- 1 t baking powder
- 75 cL (3 C) lukewarm water
- 10 mL (1 T) sunflower oil
Serve with butter and honey
Directions:
Mix flour, semolina, and salt together in food processor bowl. Add enough water to obtain thick batter.
Mix baker’s yeast and baking powder together in some water, and incorporate the mixture into the batter.
Cover and let sit for 60 to 90 min.
Pour a small ladleful into a hot pan.
Holes will start to form on the surface of the baghrir as it is cooking.
Remove finished baghrir and set aside.
Serve hot or cold, as you like. They may also be eaten warm with a butter-honey topping.
