Kefta tajine (meatballs)
Ingredients
- 750 g (1.7 lb) beef
- 250 g (0.6 lb) lamb
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 1 bunch of cilantro
- 1 bunch of parsley
- 3 sprigs of mint
- 3 sprigs of marjoram
- 1 t pepper
- 1 t salt
- 1 egg
For sauce:
- 50 g (¼ C) butter
- 500 g (1.1 lb) tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 bell peppers
- 1 t cumin
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1 T paprika
- 8 eggs
- ½ t salt
Directions:
Chop meats, garlic, cilantro, parsley, mint, and marjoram together in R5 food processor bowl at 1,500 rpm, repeating once, to obtain a finely chopped filling.
Add salt, pepper, cumin, cinnamon, paprika, and 2 eggs, mixing well.
Form meatballs.
Peel and slice onions, quarter tomatoes, and slice bell peppers.
Fry onion, tomatoes, and bell peppers in oil over low heat for 25 min. Season.
Set meatballs on top of fried vegetables, and continue cooking for 5 min.
Right before serving, crack eggs, adding one to each tagine. Let cook for 3 min.
